What is your main goal when working with a client?
My goal as a therapist is to meet my client where they are in their journey and their pain; to sit with them in their brokenness and offer them hope.
What is your approach and what methods do you employ?
My foundational approach is called process experiential emotion-focused therapy. It is a client-centered, holistic approach with strong empirical evidence of its effectiveness.
What age groups do you most often work with?
I most often work with children, families, and adolescents.
Are you passive or active in the session, what can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?
A client can expect a calm and safe environment with me. They will control most of the content, while I will be in control of the process.
What is your background and what are your credentials?
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Much of my background is in ministry, and I have also worked professionally in the private sector.
What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?
I love to sit with others in their brokenness. It is the one thing that we all have in common; yet spend most of our energy hiding from others. To be invited into another person’s life and journey is an amazingly great and sacred honor.
