What is your main goal when working with a client?
The goals are always determined by my client. My job is simply to create the space and security to help achieve these goals.
What is your approach and what methods do you employ?
My approach is a mix including a person-centered relational style, with a Cognitive Behavioral flair to identify thought patterns that are keeping a person stuck. My hope is to help my clients discover the root of their inhibiting thoughts, and then to journey with them to find healing.
What age groups do you most often work with?
I most often work with young adults.
Are you passive or active in the session, what can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?
I would say my style is more active than passive. I like to engage the content that my client shares, so you’ll find me asking questions to help spur on deeper and wider thinking into the issues that come up.
What is your background and what are your credentials?
My background is in Hospitality and Corporate Recruiting. I began pursuing my Master’s in Counseling in the spring of 2016 and will be finished in the spring of 2018.
What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?
I love to see people living up to their full potential! Life beats us up sometimes, and I believe, it is through a relationship that we heal to a place that allows us to step into that potential.
