What is your main goal when working with a client?
For the client to know when they leave the session, there has been an accomplishment in healing, and that healing will take time.
What is your approach and what methods do you employ?
I take an empathetic approach with all of my clients. I employ what methods best fit the client so they know they are safe and free from condemnation and judgment.
What age groups do you most often work with?
I have raised 5 children, ranging in age from 29 to 15. I am 49 years old, so I have a broad range of ages I am confident in working with.
Are you passive or active in the session, what can a client typically expect sessions to be like while working with you?
I am active in the session. The client can expect for me to be engaged with them in what they are saying, and keeping them on track with what they are wanting to work on in the session.
What is your background and what are your credentials?
I have been married for 20 years, a former government contractor and a pastor with World Christianship Ministries. I have worked with people from all walks of life over a 20-year military career in the United States Army and those having trouble with substance abuse. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
What is the reason you decided to get into counseling?
Counseling is what saved my marriage, and I am a servant leader and have a desire to help others save their families.
