Individual Counseling and Family Counseling
Individual Counseling and Family Counseling (CPT codes include but not limited to:
90822, 90807, 90829, 90813, 90846, and 90847)
Individual counseling is confidential in nature and is provided within the context
of the client’s needs. It can include the individual, spouse, or other family members
in the counseling session.
Individual counseling is helpful when the client has emotional, mental, or behavioral
problems, such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar, personality disorders, physical,
sexual, or emotional abuse, divorce, puberty, defiance, drug use, addiction, sexual
orientation, anger management or boundary setting that may cause challenges for
them to implement a healthy lifestyle that is prosperous and fulfilled.
Family counseling is also confidential in nature. The counseling sessions will include
all of the family members and/or each member individually. Family counseling
is helpful when one or more of the members suffer from, but not limited to, depression,
anxiety, bi-polar, personality disorder, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, divorce,
puberty, defiance, drug use, addiction, sexual orientation, anger management or
boundary setting and it is hindering the family to function properly as a whole.
Individual counseling sessions are (one) hour. The counseling sessions are usually
scheduled once weekly but can also occur bi-weekly if appropriate.
Group Counseling
Group Counseling (CPT Codes include but not limited to 90849)
Group Counseling is kept confidential in nature, and provides a setting for attendees
to work through workbooks alongside other group members who have similar challenges.
Groups have an educational and therapeutic component, and support component. They
help attendees apply concepts and skills to their personal situation, whether it
is surviving sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, divorce, depression, anxiety,
bi-polar, personality disorder, puberty, defiance, drug use, addiction, sexual orientation,
anger management or boundary setting.
Group counseling is limited to 6-8 people and is closed to newcomers. The weekly
group counseling sessions last 1 ½ hours, and continue for 12-13 weeks depending
on the topic and number of attendees. Group counseling attendees will be required
to sign a confidentiality agreement to assure anonymity.

Training Seminars
Seminars are large group meetings for an unlimited number of people. They are educational
in nature and can be helpful for attendees to prevent future problems or help them
to begin addressing current problems before they worsen. Seminars provide concepts
and categories in which to think about a particular topic. Seminars can be structured
for one-three hours in length.

- 1 hour seminars are focused on providing introductory information about a given
topic.
- 2 hour seminars are focused on giving more specified information and interaction
with attendees with questions and answers.
- 3 hour seminars include providing information, questions and answers, and practicing
some introductory practical skills to apply the material being taught.
